In the toolbox

There seems to be interest in equipment used so I thought Id post a splurb …

I started out very simply with a Nikon F3 and an F801 with an array of lenses mostly MF fixed then moved onto F90x and F5 then moved to Canon when digital got viable, I now use Canons 5D bodies with L lenses.

I have a sinar 4×5 setup as well but don’t use it much as well as couple of TLR and old raingefinders. In my mind the raingefinder is the best system but unfortunately not mainstream in digital.

I shoot mostly available light and the 5D is great at high ISO also the viewfinder is big and bright which was important.

The strobe systems I use are fx 600  and or a ranger rx system triggered wireless via Sky ports. Shapers are mostly Octa and or beauty dish, never been a fan of shooting through umbrellas they spill light all over the place and I left a nice big reflective umbrella at a venue and never replaced it. got a few silver ones but dont really use them much.

I keep a 20d as my carry around general purpose camera.

I’m not really interested in Cameras as long as they produce good results and are reliable I’m happy. I get more excited about nice fast lens.
